The SideDoor Youth Ministries’ Homelessness Employment Leadership Program (HELP4U) is an ongoing project intended to provide employment opportunities, along with employment support to youth.  This program provides youth with a local employment opportunity in combination with various supports intended to assist the youth in sustaining positive, meaningful employment.

SideDoor operates the YEAS (Youth Employment Assistance Services) Centre with funding from ECE. Supports include job search and employment readiness, training, and life skills. HELP4U Program also facilitates Community Building Youth Futures (CBYF) Program.

Communities Building Youth Futures, Engaging 5,000 youth in Canada

Tamarack and The Government of Canada has an ambitious plan to transform the lives of young people. Working in partnership with the Learning Branch, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), the Tamarack Institute will implement a five-year Collective Impact strategy to help increase high school graduation rates for youth facing barriers. A primary goal in engaging youth facing barriers is to develop Collective Impact Strategies with up to 13 communities that enable young people to be engaged in their communities and successfully navigate transitions from youth to adulthood.

Yellowknife is one of 13 communities and SideDoor is the home of the program. For more information contact Narlie Dapilos at 867 766 HOPE (4673).
